This last weekend Tyler Hays of South Holt traveled to Columbia to compete in the Missouri State Wrestling Championships. Tyler wrestled well but had some bad luck as he was defeated twice. Once by Mike Kissell of Whitfield and once by Craig Clark of Blair Oaks.

This weekend the District Wrestling Tournament was hosted at Mid-Buchannan High School. South Holt Wrestlers competed at this tournament to advance to state. Although the South Holt Wrestling team started of rocky, they were able to come back on Saturday and Tyler Hays of South Holt advanced to state.

On Thursday the South Holt Knights hosted the Bulldogs from Gallatin and Stanberry. It was Senior Night and South Holt's Tyler Hays and his parents were recognized for their contributions to South Holt Wrestling. The South Holt Knights wrestled well with Tyler Hays and Daniel Bowness each getting wins. Tyler Hays defeated Brandon Ness of Gallatin 6-5. Daniel Bowness pinned Cosgrove of Gallatin.

January 27: Rock Port Dual

This Tuesday the South Holt Knights traveled to Rock Port to a dual with the Blue Jays. Matthew Hufford and Tyler Hays recorded wins for the Knights. All the Knight wrestlers wrestled hard and will be ready to compete in the GRC Tournament this weekend.

January 24: Lathrop

On January 24 the South Holt Knights traveled to Lathrop., Missouri to compete in the Lathrop Tournament.

January 22: South Holt Meet

The South Holt Knights took on the Tarkio Indians and the North Platte Panthers at home this week.

January 15: Gallatin

Daniel Bowness of South Holt wrestling 171 pinned Brendan Cosgrove of Gallatin in :26 seconds. He received a win against Albany.

Tyler Hays of South Holt wrestled Bo Malo of Gallatin and Charlie Coleman of Albany. Tyler won 13-11 against Malo and pinned Coleman in 2:28 seconds.

Matthew Hufford 112 of South Holt wrestles Justin Tawl of Gallatin. Matthew lost to Tawl but received a win against Albany.

Jesse Ramsey 125 of South Holt faced Terril Wood of Gallatin and Jesse Lykins of Albany. Jesse wrestled hard but was unable to come away with a win.

Last Thursday the Knights of South Holt traveled to Gallatin to face the Gallatin Bulldogs and the Albany Warriors.

This weekend the Knights Wrestling Team of South Holt traveled to Trenton, Missouri to compete in the Trenton Wrestling Tournament. The Knights faced some tough competition. Matthew Hufford and Jesse Ramsey each got a win while Tyler Hays of South Holt finished third in his weight class.

December 11: Tarkio High School

Last Thursday the South Holt Knights Wrestling team took on the Indians of Tarkio. South Holt lost the dual but pinned Tarkio Wrestlers in four out of the five matches they wrestled. Excellent job!

Coach's Notes: Jesse is back this year and wrestling at 119. Last year he placed third in the Rock Port Tournament and 2nd in the North Platte Tournament. We are looking forward to seeing Jesse back in action this year on the mat.

Coach's Notes: Tyler is coming off a strong Junior year. Last year Tyler placed 3rd at GRC, 4th at Districts, and was a state qualifier. We are looking forward to more great performances from Tyler on the mat this year.

Coach's Notes: Donny Sipes is an excellent athlete who splits time between basketball and wrestling at South Holt. Donny's freshman year was full of accomplishments on the mat.
